Need Help with Saskatoon Bed Bugs
by Elmo
(Saskatoon, SK)
Hi everybody,
I moved in to a apartment owned by rescom in Saskatoon and the owner did not tell me the apartment had bed bugs.
The owners excuse was that most of the high end hotels have them and we were not to tell any one. We knew 5 different people that have them in the same apartment complex, all were bitten. We were all sprayed but they still roam the apartment .
I just thought i would write about this.04/10/11.
Editor CommentHi Elmo,
I suggest you contact Saskatoon Public Health Services at (306) 655-4605 and the Office of Residential Tenancies. Be sure to notify the landlord in writing about the bed bug problem as well, as this serves as an official record.
In Saskatoon, a landlord has a legal obligation to "maintain rental premises in a good state of repair and fit for habitation." While bed bugs are not considered to be a health emergency since they don't spread disease, the landlord must treat the apartment and inspect adjacent apartments, and do so in a timely manner.
