Editor Suggestions for Getting Landlord Bedbug Action in San FranciscoSan Francisco has some of the best laws for protecting tenants from bed bugs. You did the right thing by contacting the hotel in writing. Now you need to contact the San Francisco Department of Public Health Section and register an official complaint by calling (415) 252-3800 or go to their office at 1390 Market St., Suite 210, S.F., CA 94102.
The law is very clear on your rights ,which include:
- A response to your bed bug complaint within 48 hours and a plan of action within 72 hours
- Relocation to a room without bed bugs
- Notification to tenants in adjoining rooms
I'd also suggest contacting an attorney that has experience with bed bugs such as the law firm of Bracamontes & Vlasak, P.C. by calling 415-835-6777.
Best of luck. The bed bugs law is on your side.
