Thank you for your question. It is possible to eliminate a small bed bug infestation yourself. They key is to buy a kit from a reputable company such as Bed Buy Supply the needed products (knock down spray to kill bed bugs on contact, residual or longer lasting spray and a product such as bed bug dust.

If the infestation is larger, then the insects may get into the walls or deeply embed in furniture. Once this happens you have to get a professional. If you rent an apartment, be sure to check if in your State it is the responsibility of the landlord.

Whatever you do, expect that a professional or a home treatment option usually requires three attempts before the problem is gone.
