Freezing furniture or other infested items to minus (-) 19 degrees C for at least four days MAY be a practical means of control for limited infestations.

Freezing insects entails "exposing them to temperatures as low as possible, as quickly as possible, for as long as possible", and this goal may not be practically achieved in all cases.

Therefore, cold treatment, or even spot cold treatment, would only be effective in combination with other follow-up and pest control methods.
