Bed Bug Bites on Leg

I just need somebody to please help me. I don't understand why the landlord cannot correct this problem. I must have been bitten over 200 times.

Thank you for submitting your question. We feel your pain Unfortunately, in Kansas at the State level there are no specific laws that dictate responsibility for bed bugs in rental properties or apartment complexes.

That said, there are laws in specific jurisdictions such as Lawrence Kansas where under the city's property maintenance code, no person shall allow a bed bug infestation to remain upon any real property or premises that he or she owns, occupies or controls (Section 9-620 of the code).

We suggest contacting the neighborhood and development services department of the City of Garden City, Kansas. Ask them to speak with an enforcement official who can provide some guidance regarding a landlords obligation to eradicate bed bugs from a property.
